Welcome to the world of Island Opera Theatre. The purpose of our opera repertory company is to provide affordable opera and musical theatre performances to the residents and visitors of Monroe County, and provide performance opportunities for local musicians and technical personnel.

We sponsor performances of opera and musical theatre using local performers whenever possible. We provide training for, and help to identify and develop the talents of our students. We make our performances accessible to the general public by performing at varied locations throughout Monroe County, and make them affordable. We also provide outreach/ educational programs for children in our schools.

It is our hope that you will join us as we develop and grow. From serious opera to comic opera; from Gershwin to Gilbert & Sullivan; from dinner theatre to musical theatre, Island Opera Theatre has something for everyone!

One of the casualties from Hurricane Wilma was the Clavinova that Island Opera Theatre transports and uses for all its touring shows and educational programs. Replacement of an instrument of this caliber was certainly not in our budget for last season, and the thousands of dollars in other damages made it even more difficult. However, in true Key West fashion, help arrived. With special help from Carol & Chris at MacArthur Music, some very special patrons came to our aid and provided the funds to replace our Clavinova, allowing us to continue to provide our programs up and down the Keys, and into our schools.
